HEAVEN ON YOUR MIND

What is new?
It is the season of Lent
It is here again

It is the season to recall the fragility of our humanity. Our mortality. That the physical body
comes from dust and to dust will it return. It reminds us to be humble and in humility, eschew pride and keep the ordinances and commandments of the Lord of Hosts.

The season seeks of us, the purification of the heart, the spirit and the soul of the sludge of sins blocking our hearts and ears, so that our spirit is clean, refreshed, and one with God in purity. To renew our devotion to God

It is the season of forgiveness and charity, a time to remember our homeless, distressed, sick, dying, poor, naked, hungry and imprisoned neighbours. A visit, a hug, a prayer, a smile, a little party, a kind word, giving hope, food, gifts and if you can, some money, to bring smiles to their faces.

Jesus said: Whatever you do to the least of the brethren, that you do to me. This season you might just be feeding Jesus and not even know it. Go ahead, stand up from where you are, look for those you can remove from pain and distress and do a little kind thing to them in Jesus name.

Among the great fruits of charity is that you the giver also enjoy joy even as you spread happiness to others and also obtain peace beyond understanding. It is pertinent in this season to remember the exhortation of Mother Teresa: The fruit of Silence is prayer. The fruit of Prayer is faith. The fruit of Faith is love. The fruit of Love is service. The fruit of Service is peace. So go on and spread love.

We fast and pray in this season to purge and cleanse our hearts and soul of sins (transgressions) and ask the Lord for pardon and renewal, to be born again in spirit, strengthened in the body and blessed to worship God with passion and to love our neighbour as our self.

May we seek God's face in truth and spirit. May He grant us our petitions. May He uphold us with his right arm of righteousness. May He strengthen us with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. And we keep solemn our vows to God. May we go and spread the gospel, the good news of the kingdom of Heaven. May we stay away from sins. May we be mightily blessed and protected as we offer lamentations and praises and prayers to the Father Almighty, our Rock and Salvation.

This we pray in the name of the Son of the Most High, our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father Almighty in unity with the Holy Spirit.
One God for ever and ever. Amen
